Coach Jeff Hewitt on the game: The games I remember back when I played in high school are the ones that are just like this. They’re rivalries and they’re healthy for high school athletics. We’re going to a small field where we have to keep the ball down and there is no doubt coach Chad Hill and his staff will have his team ready to play. One of the the things we always tell our kids is you can’t get caught up in the rivalry. We have to play the game we’ve played all year and stick to our plan.

Coach Chad Hill on the game: We are very excited to be hosting Pinecrest at Union Pines for our Senior Night. We are expecting one of the largest crowds in school history to watch the No. 2 ranked 4A team in the state, who has the No.1 pitching prospect in NC on the mound. Our guys are excited for this challenge and hopefully we will give everyone in attendance a great game to watch. I'm not sure when these two teams have played this late in a season and it will even be more special because we will be recognizing our three seniors: Gabe Gonzalez, Carson Kelly and Keaton Thomas. These guys have worked hard at helping us build a program that will continue to grow after they have graduate.
