n Thursday at 1 p.m. (Open and 299er Section when possible)

n Saturday, complimentary brunch at 10:30 a.m., with game at 11 a.m.

n Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Limited Games

n Tuesday at 1 p.m., the game is limited to players with fewer than 299 points. A mini-lesson is offered at 12:15 p.m., followed by a game with pre-duplicated hands that reinforce the lesson of the day. For partners, call Maxine Cunningham at (910) 695-0121.

n Friday at 1 p.m., the game is limited to players with fewer than 199 points. A mini-lesson is offered at 12:30 p.m. For partners, call Anne Brechtelsbauer at (910) 295-4565.

n A session of supervised play (not ACBL-sanctioned) is held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

All games are ACBL-sanctioned and nonsmoking. Lessons are available for all levels of play.

Upcoming Events

n Extra point Charity Game, Sunday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m.

n April 18-23 is District 7’s Sectional Tournaments at Club Week (STaC games). All games that meet STaC requirements will award silver points and are sectionally rated.

n Anne Brechtelsbauer has begun a set of lessons on Mondays through May 2 from 4:45 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays through May 7, following the Saturday Open Game. Topics include doubles, two club openings and responses, slam bidding, and defensive bidding over opponents no trump. Individual classes by topic can be taken. Sign up at the Studio or contact Anne at (910) 295-4565.

n From 10 a.m. to noon on both Thursday, April 21, and April 28, David Rogers will be teaching a two-class session titled, “Improve Your Part-Score and Game Bidding.” Topics covered will be new minor forcing, inverted minors, two-way new minor forcing, fourth suit forcing, and the XYZ convention. Each class will be a combined lecture and play of the hand covering the topics taught that day. The cost is $15 per class. Sign up at the Studio or contact David at (910) 987-7098.

n The studio will be closed Easter Sunday, April 24.

n On Saturday, May 7, there will be a “Run for the Roses” Derby party at 5 p.m., with bridge to follow. Additional details will be forthcoming.
