A Rockingham man is accused of exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl and her mother in a parking lot of an Aberdeen restaurant and then following them to another store, police said.

Stanley Gould, 50, of 145 Gaston McLean Road, was arrested and charged with felony indecent exposure and misdemeanor stalking in connection with the incident which happened about 9 p.m. Monday, said Jim Foster, deputy chief of the Aberdeen police.

The woman and her daughter had left a restaurant at the Aberdeen Commons shopping center and were walking to their car when the teen saw the man sitting in his car with his pants down, engaged in a sexual act, Foster said.

The teen told her mother of the incident, Foster said, and the two got in their car and drove to Walmart. When they returned from shopping they noticed that the car they’d seen in the other parking lot was now parked next to their vehicle, Foster said.

The victims got identifying features of the vehicle and called police.

Gould was arrested Tuesday. He is currently in Moore County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
