Two Face Multiple Drug Charges

Crack cocaine, marijuana, a marijuana plant, prescription pills, a rifle and money were seized Wednesday by officers after a search of a Southern Pines residence and two people were arrested.
Franzy Deshon Wilson, 44, of 800 West New York Avenue, Southern Pines, and Larry William Covington, 51, of 105 Cedar Place, West End, were arrested by officers with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics and select enforcement units searched Wilson’s residence, according to a press release.
During the search officers located and seized six units of crack cocaine, 257 grams of marijuana, a marijuana plant, 10 Ambien prescription pills, a .22 caliber rifle, $1,325 and items of drug paraphernalia, according to the release. The release indicated the street value of the drugs is $2,800.
Wilson and Covington were each charged with felony manufacture marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance (Ambien) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson was also charged with felony possession of a firearm by convicted felony.
Wilson was jailed, with bail set at $250,000. Covington was released under a $20,000 unsecured bond.
