The Moore County Amateur Radio Society (MOCARS) is offering a technicians' licensing class beginning Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. The six-week class takes place at the Carthage Fire Department, U.S. 15-501, Carthage.
Course material will be based on the ARRL Technicians Licensing Manual (2010 edition) available from ARRL. Each student should have access to a copy. Following, a licensing examination will be offered.

MOCARS has monthly meetings the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. on the lower level of the Moore County Emergency Operations Center, 105 W. Saunders St., Carthage.
MOCARS also hosts a 2-meter net each Sunday and Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. on 147.240Mhz + offset + 91.5 tone; all licensed hams are invited to participate.
