I would like to thank all the United Way volunteers who donated their time on Friday, Sept. 10, to help get the Northern Moore Family Resource Center organized and spruced up.

Every time I glance back at the bright yellow wall in the back room, it makes me smile! The cabinets have never been so organized — I’m shocked every time I open one. I can’t wait to move the file cabinets in my office onto a nice level platform. I just haven’t had time to paint the wood yet.

One day a few weeks ago, I almost pulled a file cabinet over on top of myself because of the slanted floor. We’re down to only a few small bags of papers that need to be shredded — the end is in sight! I hope to complete that task this week. Please know that you all contributed a great deal to an organization that is understaffed. Your time and effort were greatly appreciated.

It’s terrific of the United Way of Moore County to sponsor this event each year, and I feel fortunate to live in such a supportive and caring community.
