Shooting and fishing enthusiasts can indulge in their favorite pastime while supporting child education when the Sandhills Classic Cast & Blast debuts Oct. 16.

The King Fisher Society, a world-class shooting and fishing preserve, is the host location for this Sandhills Classical Christian School fundraiser.

Generally known to businesses for entertaining clients or hosting retreats, King Fisher Society opens this one day for world-class angling and shooting. The Sandhills Classic Cast & Blast marks the first time the elite sanctuary has allowed a fundraiser on the grounds.

Recognized as one of the top fishing locations in the country, King Fisher Society provides boats, guides and all equipment as part of the experience. This 200-year-old pristine lake is the ideal setting to fish for trophy-size bass and blue gill.

Both the novice and experienced shooter enjoy friendly clay competition at the new international caliber five-stand. The clay course design and side games keep the shooting interesting for participants of all skill levels. In keeping with King Fisher Society's custom, the afternoon includes fine dining and live jazz. The event closes with an auction of unique items and packages to raise funds for Sandhills Classical Christian School's capital campaign.

"We're thrilled that the school can offer our community a chance to experience King Fisher Society," said fundraising chairman David Zmiewsky. "The fact that we're using the proceeds to better educate children boosts our excitement."

Enrollment at Sandhills Classical Christian School increased 50 percent in the last three years, leading the school to a facilities capital campaign.

The goal of Sandhills Classic Cast & Blast is to build the school's future, one classroom at a time.

Participation packages begin as low as $250, and sponsorship packages begin at $1,250.

The Five-Stand sponsorship offers businesses the most visibility, including logo placement, goodie bag representation, and a speaking opportunity at lunch.

A bonus King Fisher Society day-trip for two goes to this major sponsor.
