Deputies Arrest Two Wanted for Felony Larceny, Including Man Who Took 87-Year-Old Grandmother on Crime Spree

Moore County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two suspects wanted for several felony larcenies and break-ins in the county, including one suspect who forced his 87-year-old grandmother to accompany him on a crime spree.
The suspects, Christopher Edward Puckett, 27, and Kristie Jean Kimball, 31, both of West End were apprehended at approximately 2 p.m. today in a wooded area near West End. The suspects were located with the help of a North Carolina Highway Patrol helicopter. The arrest went without incident.
The Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for both subjects earlier in the day. Puckett was wanted on two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny, two counts of possession of stolen property and second-degree kidnapping involving his 87-year-old grandmother, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.
He is accused of forcing his grandmother to accompany him on the crime spree. She was unharmed and is no longer with him, according to the release.
Kimball, who lived with Puckett, was wanted on two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny and two counts of possession of stolen property.

You know, other than the grandmother, this girl has two beautful children, with whom she has had not contact..now is the right, and how embarrassing for them, they haven't done anything wrong, yet they will have to accept the scorn they receive from this article, and what their "mama" has done, not counting what they are already going through...PRAYERS for the kids...

Yes, prayers for the kids, but if this is the company she keeps - better for them that she doesn't have contact with them. The other article said the couple has the same address so I would venture to say that where ever her kids are is better than living with mama & mama's granny-snatching beau.

Okay here is my two cents. Grandma not only knows what he has been up to for years but also what the girl has been up to for the last bit. Kristy used to be one of the best Moms you would ever see. For some reason she decided that drugs were better than a loving husband and two beautiful girls. You are right with the prayers for them. Please also remember to pray they Dad has the right words to tell them about all this. This couple has absolutely no respect for anybody, not even themselves. This I am sure hurts Chris' family too. I am sure his brother, who is an awesome person, really likes that the family name is getting more and more ruined every day. Girls, I love you and your Dad. Granny, I love you too. I love both of these families that are involved here.

You are absolutely right, the girls are lots better off , not being around the "mama", but how in the world do you make them understand this..and libsmom, you too are right, Kristy used to be a wonderful Mom,, this is what drugs do, I wish everyone reading this could learn a lesson..Chris' brother is a wonderful person, no one needs all this, just Pray, Pray that God will watch over the innocent victims here and give them strength to get through this ,,,,,now we have to wonder, "what will the court do"..Lets hope there is justice in the judical system when this case goes to court ..

WOW!! how did these scum bags post bails where they were caught in June of this year?? That's our judicial system for you. People are not held accountable they are just released to have at it again! As far as Granny goes if she isn't suffering from dementia she knew this was going on and could have busted the Grandson over the head with her iron skillet.
Whoever referred to this chick being Oriental/Asian better go to Wal-Mart bright and early to let Dr Matheny have a look at your eyesight cause you need help. This chick don't even come close to being Asian. She has been rode really hard and put up wet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People committing crimes to support habits, and other crimes have to want to help themselves. If not all you can do is keep them from hurting themselves and others. The sad part is that being in jail or prision can't even assure that anymore. Jails and prisions have got to get back to being the last , final, and only place you don't want to go or be in. Hard time, NO exceptions! There are many honest people having to labor, work, worry and stress everyday to live right. Why do criminals have a "free ticket" to live as they see fit? They are criminals, make them understand that, and be treated like it so they will hide at the sound of the word jail or prision after they serve there sentence the first time.

Yep Chris' brother is absolutely a good guy, however he isn't innocent by any means. I love him to death but by constantly bailing Chris out over the years all he is doing is enabling Chris to continue doing stuff like this. I sincerely hope that this causes him to finally cut Chris off and make him see he can't keep fixing things for Chris so maybe (big maybe) one day Chris will turn his life around. As for Kristy,I don't understand her and I hope she gets some help and opens her eyes to what she is doing to her life and her poor daughters. I feel so sorry for the girls and am thankful they have a loving, supportive father.

Someone said the grandmother knew about the activities of those two messed up people. Has anyone considered that she may have been being abused or threatened by those two. That woman has never given anyone any harm and I grew up here in West End and I can't believe that she was covering for him unless she had a good reason. She may have been being watched by that boy every minute, intercepting her telephone calls and even running visitors off. Sometimes something really bad has to happen before the truth can come out. Maybe this is one of those cases. Lets not judge until all the facts are out. And the grandparents have custody of that girl's children not their father.

@mooremedic: These people would be idiots whether or not drugs are legalized (proof in the article). Legalization would allow people including the sick and dying to use drugs other than those manufactured by pharmaceutical companies which are just as dangerous as meth in some cases. People overdose and die on medications that you as a medic have probably administered. NO ONE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND has died from an overdose of marijuana. At least with legalization, we can card people to keep drugs out of minor's hands as much as possible. Currently, with prohibition, minors are used to sell the drugs many times. Pharmacies card customers, bars card customers, cigarette retailers card customers but dealers don't card. A national survey cited that a majority of high school students in the United States feel it is easier for them to get marijuana than it is to get alcohol. Once again, dealers don't card. So get off your mighty horse. The government has the right to protect the citizens from one another, but they don't have the right to tell me how to treat/use/abuse my body. This is my body & as long as what I do as an adult in the privacy of my home is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS nor anyone else's. I have an incurible disease and marijuana does help. But thanks to backward thinking, I'm a criminal if I were to choose a relatively safe plant over Vicodin and about eight other drugs I've been prescribed. As for whomever has these children, it is better that they have no contact with their mother, her um soon to be girlfriend (after bubba gets done with him, and their oblivious grandmother. If anyone knows the family Grandma can hold her own quite well..And to the writer that cant spell prison: drugs arent cool, stay in school. In any event, they need some real time, not probation and fines, actual prison, where they will have so much fun with the withdrawels.. Nobody knows how much probation they will get but I hope they do get deloused. They really look lice infested.

What a sad tale! I feel for the woman's children. I highly doubt pot made them rob people. More like meth and illegally gained prescription drugs. Meth will fry your brain. Probably why she forgot about her precious children. The family needs to use 'tough love' and stop bailing out these two losers. Life is a gift and way too short to do horrible things like this.

Hey Colesue21 I grew up with this woman babysitting me often! I find your attack of Eunice very offensive. I sure would love to know who you are so we can discuss this. If you know so much then we should know one another. I have seen the bruises on her that Chris put on her time and time again. The blogs you are posting are pretty well on the slander side and I believe the newspaper should stop your lies. She is a Christian woman and has never caused anyone any harm. She has buried all but one of her children and has done all she can to try to help Chris. Just like parents do with their children she kept giving him the benefit of the doubt. I cannot disclose what I have learned about the incident at hand but I do know firsthand what Chris has done to her and how he isolated her as much as he could. She is a victim of DV and like most victims they try and try to find the good in their abuser. Yes, she knew he was into some bad stuff but after he begged her to let him stay with her and telling her all the right things such as I have changed and I am never going to jail again…. If you truly know the whole story then you know what I am saying is correct unless you were one of Chris’s sellers or buyers and am defending your stake. All she is guilty of is trying to find good in a lost soul and trying to lead him to the Lord. Now, Colesue21 would you like for your life to be slandered? How would you feel if someone was speaking about you like you have done against Eunice? Think about how she would feel if she knew what you have said about her. She is fighting cancer and has had a stroke and on a walker. She cannot even drive anymore. So Colesue21 how can she be a threat?

I am sure the above will not like what I am going to say, but there are people that are actually "enablers," and now there has been a 2nd arrest of the two thieves. If Grandma knew what was going on, then she was an enabler and is just as much to blame as those that committed the crimes. It must be stopped because all of them are threats to society. Where were the people that should have been helping Grandma with all her medical conditions and getting her out of the DV situation?

Hey B flat No I do not have a criminal record of any kind what so ever. Yes, she was an enabler. And people were trying to help her but she was trying to find the good in her grandson. If you had any kind of education first you would know the dynamics of DV. I am not going to waste my time explaining this to you. Second, Adult Protective Services and the police cannot help unless a victum is ready to get help and get out of the situation. The DA has been able to make many changes where DV cases are concerned. They do charge if they have evidence without wittness testemony. If its at all muddy, their hands are tied and cannot win a case and do not have the resources to waste their time. With the grandma. It may not have been so easy to prove. Family hearsay is not evidence enough when a victim is down playing the incidents because of FEAR by the assaulting jerk. Male or Female! Or in her case. BOTH!

Your other assumptions about my knowledge of ongoing DV are also incorrect. I understand your strong ties to "Grandma." Hopefully this time she will not have to endure any more bruises, abuse, & fear.

those who do not report elder abuse is just as guilty as those who are abusing. As in childrens possible abuse cases, all elder abuse cases are thoroughly investigated.
