Program Disposes of Unused Meds

Saturday, Sept. 25, is the date for Operation Medicine Drop, a program for disposal of unused and expired medications.

The medicine drop will be held at 11 sites throughout the county between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the 25th.

Sponsors include the Moore County Sheriff's Office and the Southern Pines, Carthage, Aberdeen, Vass, Pinebluff, Taylortown and Robbins police departments, in partnership with the Moore County Drug Prevention Task Force and Drug Free Moore County.

"Please take time to clean out your medicine cabinet. Bring any unused and expired medications to one of the drop-off sites," says the notice from the sponsors.

Locations for Medicine Drop on Sept. 25 are:

- Aberdeen Recreation Station on U.S. 1-15-501.

- Lowes Foods, Olmsted Village, Taylortown.

- Southern Pines Police Department, West Pennsylvania Avenue.

- Food Lion in Carthage.

- Lowes Foods in Robbins.

- Cooper's Pharmacy in Vass.

- Pinebluff Town Hall.

- Quality Care Pharmacy in Seven Lakes.

- Sandhills Bowling Cen-ter on N.C. 5, Aberdeen.

- Walmart on U.S. 15-501, Southern Pines.

- Village Apothecary, N.C. 22, Whispering Pines.
