The National Alliance on Mental Illness - Moore County (NAMI-MC) will hold its monthly education and support meeting on Monday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the community room at the FirstHealth Specialty Center, located on Memorial Drive at the corner of Page Road in Pinehurst.

All meetings and programs are free and open to the public.

Dr. Charlie Swanson, an adult psychiatrist with Carolina Behavioral Care, PA, in Pinehurst, will be the guest speaker. Swanson will discuss medications, what's new, what to expect, interactions, etc.

"This is your opportunity to speak with a doctor who can answer your questions about medication that may help you deal with the issues that are troubling you," says a spokesman.

After Swanson's presentation, a NAMI-MC board member will be available for a support meeting.

NAMI-MC is made up entirely of volunteers and is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that advocates for those with a brain illness and their families.

"NAMI-MC needs your help to continue with its support programs: Linden Lodge, Peer to Peer, Family to Family, Crisis Intervention Team training and NAMI on Campus," says the spokesman.

Call (910) 295-1053 or visit www.nami-moorecounty.org for further information.

"Donations are appreciated, and your tax deductible contribution may be sent to NAMI-MC, P.O. Box 4823, Pinehurst, NC 28374," says the spokesman.
