To stay on the cutting edge of the latest in implant dentistry's techniques in bone grafting and sinus lifts, Dr. Ritt Kuhn recently completed a 21-hour course as part of the Misch Implant Institute Dental Implant Surgical Continuum.
The training was held July 23-25 in Orlando and enabled Kuhn to perfect new surgical techniques and learn recent developments in this intricate area.
Sinus lifts and bone grafts are needed prior to implant placement when patients have experienced bone loss that prevents adequate support of dental implants.
"When the upper back teeth are lost and the jaw bone in that area shrinks, the sinus cavity falls into territory too close for implant placement," Kuhn said.
The course showed new grafting methods and sinus lifting while enhancing patient comfort.
"It's good to know these developments are so successful but also designed to keep patient comfort and recovery time in the picture," Kuhn said. "That's always important to us."
Kuhn, who is also certified to provide I.V. sedation, is in practice at Kuhn Dental Associates in Aberdeen with Dr. David Kuhn, Dr. Mandy Kuhn Grimshaw and Dr. Bernard Dennison Jr. Together they provide comprehensive adult dental care, including esthetic, restorative and general dentistry, sedation, dental implants, nonsurgical gum therapy, laser dentistry and single-visit crowns.
