Pinecrest swept Union Pines in a volleyball double header Tuesday at Bob Ward Gymnasium.

The Lady Patriots swept the nonconference intra-county varisity match in three sets. With the 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 win, Pinecrest remains undefeated at 7-0 on the season, while Union Pines fell to 5-2 on the year.

It was the second straight loss for the Vike varsity squad, which opens its Cape Fear Valley 3A conference campaign Thursday in Spring Lake against Overhills. The Patriots are back in action Wednesday, in Sanford, against 4-A nonconference foe Lee County.
