Woman Faces Charges in Credit Card Theft

A Hamlet woman was arrested Tuesday after being caught on video using a stolen credit card.

Deborah Morrison Pittman, 54, of 707 Champlain Street, Hamlet, was jailed, with bail set at $500 after the arrest, according to a press release.

The arrest stemmed from an Oct. 17 report to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office of a larceny of a financial transaction card and financial card fraud from an elderly couple in the West End area, according to the release. Pittman, who was working in the victims’ residence as a nurse at the time of the larceny, was observed on video by sheriff’s investigators using the card on multiple occasions in the West End area, according to the release.

Ms. Pittman is a nurses assistant......not a nurse!!!! Please distinguish between the two professions. This would be called good journalism.
