A West End woman was cited this afternoon after the vehicle she was driving hit another car in the intersection of N.C. 211 and N.C. 5 near Olmsted Village.

Frances B. Fellingham, 77, was at the light at the intersection turning right toward West End, when she failed to see another vehicle, according to Pinehurst police. She was cited with failure to see when starting.

Fellingham turned her 2010 Toyota Camry onto N.C. 211 and struck a 1999 Mazda 626 driven by Michael H. Lippincott, 17, of West End. Lippincott's vehicle flipped on its side and then rolled on to its roof. The vehicle slid down the road and struck a 2000 Buick LeSabre driving by Judy Cairns, of Pinehurst.

Lippincott was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional hospital.
