O'Neal Harriers Host Conference Meet; Finish Third

The O'Neal School hosted the Cape Fear Independent Conference Cross Country Championship on Monday at Southern Pines Reservoir Park.

The conference girls' champions were the Village Christian Academy Knights with a team score of 30. The conference runner-up was Fayetteville Academy with 43 points. The O'Neal girls were next with 67 and were followed by Cape Fear Academy with 104.

Cape Fear Academy came out on top as the boys' team champions with 40 points. The conference runner-up was Fayetteville Christian School with 56 followed by a third-place tie at 63 points between O'Neal and Village Christian Academy.

O'Neal runners Theresa Berg (5th, 22:52), Alana Godbey (6th, 23:28), Austin Puleo (2nd, 18:56), Evan Davies (7th, 19:56), and Ian Maynor (10th, 20:29) placed as all-conference runners.

The Lady falcons were followed by scoring team members Courtney Morrison (19th, 26:14), Aleksandra Majka (22nd, 26:52), and Bronti Viskovich (23rd, 27:04). Micaela Wilkinson closed in 25th (27:27) and Hunter Atkinson in 26th (27:57) with Allison Johnson finishing at 34th (30:52).

The O'Neal boys finished scoring with Evan Miles at 24th (22:53) and Matt Hutchens in 26th (23:21). Tomi Lawal and Maxwell Winter strung through 29th and 30th at 23:46 simultaneously. Josh Hager in 33rd (23:58), Nick Manning in 42nd (30:41), and TC Mann in 43rd (30:55) followed.
