Scotland High's quarterback Kwashaun Quick rushed for a score and passed for two others as the Fighting Scots (6-2, 2-0) handed the Pinecrest Patriots (6-2, 0-2) a 34-3 home loss Friday night.

Scotland jumped to a 14-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

The Scots marched 80 yards on the game's opening drive, scoring on a quarterback sneak by Quick.

With 40.8 seconds remaining in the opening quarter, linebacker Red Covington extended the lead when he scooped up a Patriot fumble and returned it 12 yards for a score.

Balyn Krout kicked both extra points.

Pinecrest's lone points came early in the second quarter on a 49-yard field goal by Dylan Maples. The kick was set up by a 58-yard run by Damion Pride, who finished the game with 91 yards rushing on seven carries.

Caison Murphy's 4-yard touchdown catch from Quick with 7:08 remaining in the first half gave the Scots a 20-3 lead as Krout's point-after kick sailed wide.

Late in the third quarter Quick and Murphy struck again -- this time from eight yards out -- to extend the lead to 27-3 with 2:28 remaining.

Following another Patriot turnover, running back Tony McRae completed the scoring with a 3-yard run with 1:05 left in the third.

Scotland's defense limited Pinecrest to 151 yards total offense and forced nine fumbles, recovering five.

Pinecrest will look to record its first conference win of the season Friday when the Patriots hit the road for a game against Purnell Swett. The Rams are also 0-2 in conference play after a 34-14 loss to Richmond Senior.
