The Pinecrest jayvee football team was defeated 31-14 by Scotland County in Laurinburg, Thursday evening.

Trailing 12-0 early in the second quarter, Matt Epley threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Justin Ray and kicked the extra point, making it 12-7. The Scots extended their lead to 18-7 with about three minutes remaining in the half, but in the final minute, the Pats closed the margin to 18-14 on an interception return for a touchdown by Brandon Bonner.

The Patriots (5-2) were unable to get anything going on offense in the second half while the home team scored two more times.
