Alzheimer's Association Sets Conference in S.P.

The Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina Chapter is offering an educational conference on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia Thursday, Oct. 21, in Southern Pines.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1517 Luther Way. The event cost is $10 for family caregivers and $25 for professionals. Through partnerships with local health care agencies, scholarships are available by calling the Alzheimer’s Association toll free at (800) 888-6671.
Family and professional caregivers, health care professionals and anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s and dementia are encouraged to attend to get the most current information on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Speakers will include Dr. Bryan Connell, a psychologist with Connell Psychological Services; Teresa Hoover, senior director of programs, Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter; Jennifer Garner, attorney, Garner Law Firm; and a panel of representatives from local community resource agencies.
