Led by the one-two punch of freshman Savannah Thompson and sophomore Hailey Crider, the Pinecrest girls remained undefeated in Southeastern Conference golf matches with another victory Monday afternoon.

Thompson earned medalist honors with an 84 and Crider was the runnerup with a round of 86 in the match held at the Donald Ross designed Pinecrest Country Club course in Lumberton. Haley Robinson shot a 98 and Becky Anderson posted a 100 to complete the Patriot team score of 368.

The other team scores were Scotland County 397, Richmond Senior 421, Purnell Swett 448 and Hoke County 490. Next Monday's final league match of the season will be held at Scotch Meadows in Laurinburg.

Middle School XC On Tap

The Moore County Middle School Cross Country Championship meet is scheduled to be held at the Elks Club in Southern Pines on Thursday.

The boys' two mile run will begin at 4 p.m. followed by the girls' race at 4:30 p.m.

Casey Mitchell, of West Pine Middle School, was the top finisher for the boys in a close race with Irvin Enriquez, of Southern Middle, in last week's race, also held at the Elks course.

Sophia Flores, of Pope John Paul II School, was the first girl to cross the finish line in the competition that preceded Pinecrest's Southeastern Conference tri-meet.
