Mr. and Mrs. Jason Moore Harman

Christin Naomi Matthews, of Raleigh, and Jason Moore Harman, of Southern Pines, were married at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina. The Rev. Robert Coats officiated at the ceremony.

The reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Hall and Gardens at Landmark in Garner.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Elizabeth Matthews, of Raleigh, and the granddaughter of Naomi Lee, of Raleigh. She attended Fuquay-Varina High School and graduated from N.C. State in 2006 and received her master’s degree from East Carolina University in 2008. The bride is a second grade teacher at Southern Pines Primary.

The groom is the son of Ted and Nancy Harman, of Jackson Springs, and the grandson of Catherine Harman, of Candor, and Mr. and Mrs. Pickett Stanback, of Wadesboro. He attended East Montgomery High School and graduated from N.C. State in 2007. The groom is an account representative with Ashland Hercules Water Technologies.

The bride was escorted by her father, Gerald Matthews, and her brother, Lee Matthews. She wore a one-piece strapless gown that had a softly scooped and ruched crystal taffeta empire bodice. The skirt was embellished with beaded lace appliques and finished with a scalloped hem. She wore a matching elbow-length veil and carried white roses and light green hydrangeas.

Leslie Matthews, sister of the bride, of Carolina Beach, was the maid of honor. Lydia Kinton, of Raleigh, Laura Jennings, of Roxboro, Amanda Schachle, of Fuquay-Varina, Rebecca Ray, of Raleigh, Kelly Hamilton, of Raleigh, Shelley Morrison, of Charlotte, Katy Greene, of Greenville, and Jessica Davis, of Greenville, were bridesmaids.

Alexandra Lee, cousin of the bride, of Garner, was the junior bridesmaid.

The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaid wore tangerine orange, knee-length strapless dresses.

Kristin Boyd, of Fuquay-Varina, Kelly McLean, of Charlotte, and Erin Howe, of Dallas, were honorary bridesmaids. They wore kelly green, knee-length strapless dresses. All bridesmaids carried bouquets of orange and peach roses and light green hydrangeas.

Ted Harman, father of the groom, of Jackson Springs, was the best man. Luke Harman, brother of the groom, of Raleigh, Daniel Harman, brother of the groom, of Jackson Springs, Lee Matthews, brother of the bride, of Raleigh, Eddie Matthews, brother of the bride, of Raleigh, Patt Harman, cousin of the groom, of Wilmington, Jeff Reynolds, of Raleigh, Jerad Williams, of Candor, Myles Connor, of Wilmington, and William Lee, cousin of the bride, of Raleigh, were groomsmen.

Wedding music was provided by Arioso Strings and Cathy Hammer.

Katie Williams Tucker, cousin of the groom, of Eagle Springs, directed the wedding.

Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Southern Pines.

A lawn and garden shower was hosted by Susan Stephenson, Jamie Rich and Leslie Matthews at Winston’s Grille in Raleigh.

An engagement party was hosted by Gerald and Elizabeth Matthews at the home of Richard and Catherine Lee in Garner.

A poolside party was hosted by Jan and Art Williams, Cathy Phillips and Andy Harman at the Williams’ home in Eagle Springs.

A lakeside pig pickin’ was hosted by David, Jerad and Melanie Williams at their home on Lake Tillery.

A bridesmaids’ luncheon was hosted by Catherine and Alexandra Lee at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh.

A groomsmen’s luncheon was hosted by Bill and William Lee at Pam’s Farmhouse in Raleigh.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Ted and Nancy Harman at the Rand-Bryan House in Garner.
