Moore County Choral Society Holiday Concert

The Moore County Choral Society is in final preparations for its 2010 holiday concert "Spirit of the Season."

The concert will be presented in Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College Saturday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m.

The concert will feature religious and secular music of the season. Included will be popular Christmas carols and songs both secular and sacred such as "The Polar Express" and "Personent Hodie" and Hanukkah pieces including "Candle in the Night" and "Ose Shalom."

Accompanying the society will be MariJo Brown, who is well known in the area for wonderful ability and talent at the piano. The instrumentalists are the popular Moore Brass ensemble, which includes Chris Dunn, executive director for the Arts Council of Moore County, Rob Hill, along with Chris Shaw, and the husband-and-wife team of Kim and Davis Clark. Percussionists include Wayne Osborne and his son, Nate, along with Will Miller.

The Moore County Choral Society Ensemble will be featured on the program with three selections. Darlene Skinner accompanies the ensemble.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $7.50 for students and children. They are available in Southern Pines at Campbell House and The Country Bookshop; in Pinehurst at Kirk Tours; and in Seven Lakes at Sandhills Winery.
