The Inn at the Bryant House is partnering with more than 1,400 bed and breakfasts across the country offering free room nights to veterans.

Most B & Bs are offering one free room night, but the Inn at the Bryant House will be offering four rooms to veterans free of charge Wednesday, Nov. 10. The owners - Shirley Starkey and her daughter, Ashley Baker, and son-in law, Matt Baker - feel this is one way they can give back to the military community.

In addition to the free rooms for Veterans Day, the inn is also offering for regular stays:

n Free romance package, a $39 value, when military personnel are being deployed, to share one special night with their loved one.

n Each January for military appreciation month, the inn offers the romance package for free for all active and retired military personnel.

n 10 percent discount is given all year to all active and retired military

In addition, Ashley Baker is the North Carolina state representative for the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor, a national organization committed to the remembrance of the fateful morning of Dec. 7, 1941, and is actively seeking people to start a chapter in Moore County.

The Inn at the Bryant House is doing this to thank all military and their families for protecting our country, a news release said.

Expanded by Julia Thagard Bryant in 1913 from a beautiful turn-of-the-century home into a tourist home, the Inn at the Bryant House is in historic downtown Aberdeen.
