Local event rider Will Faudree has been named to the United States Equestrian Federation’s partial Short List for consideration to compete in the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky.

Faudree, 28, of Hoffman, and the 11-year-old Irish thoroughbred gelding Pawlow, who recently finished 15th at the Rolex Three Day Event, were among 11 horse/rider combinations named to the list. All horse/rider pairs are required to compete in the Advanced division at the American Eventing Championships on Sept. 9-12 in Fairburn, Ga., which will serve as the final mandatory outing for WEG.

Faudree has already represented the U.S. as part of the gold medal-winning American eventing team at the 2003 Pan Am Games. His Pan Am mount, Antigua, retired last year at 20.

John Williams, a member of the 2002 Olympic team, has applied for consideration to the WEG eventing team. Williams, of Southern Pines, and his 11-year-old Canadian gelding Sweepea Dean will compete next weekend at the Bromont CCI Three Day Event in Quebec.
