Do you have what it takes to be a babysitter?
Learn the basics right as everyone gets out of school for the summer, as Southern Pines Recreation & Parks Department offers American Red Cross Babysitters Training for youth 11 years and over.
Participants will learn how to: handle an emergency; interview for a babysitting job; feed kids; make good and responsible decisions; supervise children; perform first aid; keep kids and yourself safe; perform basic care routines; and choose safe, age-appropriate toys and games.
Redesigned, updated, informative and interactive, this class is a must for anyone interested in babysitting.
Register for the upcoming class Friday, June 11, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Train House. Registration is $40 for residents and nonresidents. Participants are asked to bring lunch and a drink.
