East Carolina pitcher Seth Maness has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year.

The Pinecrest High School graduate also made both the C-USA all-conference first team and earned academic honors for the third year in a row.

Maness went into Wednesday’s first-round C-USA tournament game against Rice in Houston with a league-high nine wins in 12 decisions. He topped the league in innings pitched with 93.2 and has struck out 82 batters while walking only 15. His career record with the Pirates is 27-8.

The business major carries a GPA of 3.37. He has also made both the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the ECU Athletic Director of Athletics’ Honor Roll three times.
