Cartoon Goes Too Far

I believe The Pilot has sunk to an all-time low for that cartoon depicting Sarah Palin as Adolf Hitler (sans mustache) for her stance on Arizona (May 21).
It seems that 84 percent of Americans agree with her. Are we all Nazis? Did you or your cartoonist actually read this bill (which is only 10 pages), or are you like Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano, who never even read the bill before spouting off?
The Arizona law is far more benign than the U.S. law, which isn’t enforced anyway. Try crossing into Iran or even Mexico and see what awaits you. To witness our politicians (and we know what side of the aisle they’re on) give the president of Mexico a standing ovation for condemning our laws was an absolute travesty.
It’s a good thing The Pilot has local ads and news. Without that I’d cancel my subscription in a heartbeat.

Mr. Strojny - it is an absolute travesty. What is so ridiculous is that if our federal law had been ENFORCED the first place we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now. They don't know what the heck they're doing in Washington. Our "leadership" is pathetic and embarrassing-our laws should be ENFORCED! If a police force in Anytown, USA didn't uphold the law & looked the other way & allowed laws to knowingly be broken-MAN!!!!-heads would freakin' roll. GO ARIZONA!

It's just gorgeous right now! We know you'd love it and maybe you can share what you saw with the rest of the country so they can love it too!
This is on an 'illegal super - highway' from Mexico to the USA ( Tucson ) used by human smugglers.
This area is located in a wash, approximately 1.5 miles long, just south of Tucson , Arizona . If a flood came, all this would be washed to the river and then onto the sea!
It is estimated over 5,000 discarded backpacks are in this wash. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, feces, including thousands of soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it.
As we kept walking down the wash, we thought for sure it was going to end, but around every corner was more and more trash!
And of course the trail leading out of the wash in our city, heads directly NORTH to Tucson , then leads to your town tomorrow.
They've already come through here. Isn't Arizona just beautiful, America ?
Why would you boycott us???
Our desert has basically been turned into a landfill.
The trash left behind by people illegally crossing our border is another Environmental Disaster to hit the USA .
If these actions had been done in one of our Northwest Forests or Seashore National Parks areas, there would be an uprising of the American people.....but this is the Arizona-Mexican border.
You won't see these pictures on CNN, ABC, NBC or the Arizona Republic Repugnant newspaper. Nor will they mention the disease that comes from the uncovered human waste left in our desert.
However, with respect to CNN, ABC & NBC, they do offer us "Special Reports" on cheating celebrity spouses....
This information needs to be seen by the rest of the country. "

To be honest - all of this could have been prevented a LONG time ago - if our government would have attacked the problem at the source - the "employers" that illegally hire them. Without jobs - even low paying ones - there would be no reason to cross the border and no way to survive if they did!

Cut off any means of "assistance". Medicaid, Food Stamps, WIC, etc. Also, to those birdbrains from that university in Cali who wanted to hand out phones to illegal aliens with built in GPS systems so that they can better navigate the desert & find water-I DON'T THINK SO!!! Just b/c your country is a cesspool-don't turn our country into one.

Hopefully, all other states will join force with Arizona. Eventually, the illegals will have nowhere to go but back to Mexico or whatever country they came from. Also, if federal funds are taken away from illegals who have dependent children here, they will take them back with them.

I find it amusing that Sarah Palin has apparently taken on the same status as Muhammad--one cannot now draw a cartoon of her without inciting jihad.

The problem, dear fatboy, is that under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution (you remember the Constitution, don't you?) those children are citizens if born in the US.
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;" etc.

Illegals need to go back to Mexico and start taking care of their country. Moving to America is not going to improve Mexico. Go back and start thinking what you can do for your country and raise the mexican kids who should belong there, it is really their country, not for yourself.

Hey needle...I am fully aware that the children are, in fact, US citizens as guaranteed by the Constitution. I'm very familiar with it.
Let me break down my previous statement so that you can understand. If federal funds were withheld from the illegals (meaning the parents), then the illegals would have no choice but to leave and take the children with them. The reason people are so vocal about this issue is that the cost to support just one child of an illegal alien is 35K per year. This is just another mis-appropriation of tax dollars. This money could be put to more practical use by securing the borders.

Good comments Dennis...I agree 100%. Hey Needle, the Pilot runs such editorial pictures depicting conservatives on a regular basis...And of course they have no worry nor consequences to pay down on Pennslyvania avenue to property or staff. What would really be amusing if the editorial staff run one of them Muhammad cartoons...It's amazing; no...to use your words, it's amusing what liberals will poke 'fun' at and what they won't :)

So great to put up numbers about the cost of the illegals. Is it anymore than the people that are US citizens that hang out on welfare as a way of life? Some cannot help it...but there are many where it's a way of life.
Maybe if they showed as much initiative as some of the people from Mexico that come here and actually work we could resolve a lot of problems.
And unless you are an American Indian your a descendant of an Immigrant. While there is a process that should be followed...their needs are no different than ours..to make a better life for our families/children.
The problem needs to be addressed but some compassion in doing so would be good as well.
