Chef Mark Elliott and Sandhills Children’s Center have partnered to present the second annual Dining in the Field. This dining experience is about reconnecting the farm to the fork with courses built from the bounty of local farms.

The event takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at 540 Sandy Wood Farm, Pinehurst.

Dining in the Field is intended to be a casual and rustic affair with Elliott’s chefs preparing each course literally a table away. This community dinner is about everyone being involved — guest, farmer and chef. The elaborate feast will be served on vineyard tables against the grand scenery backdrop of Sandy Woods Farm, located just outside of Pinehurst off Linden Road.

Elliott and his wife, Kelly, have devoted themselves to supporting the community in many philanthropic ways.

“Sandhills Children’s Center is fortunate to be the recipient of their generosity with proceeds from the dinner benefiting the children with disabilities served by Sandhills Children’s Center, located in Southern Pines and Rockingham,” says a spokesman.

Tickets are $125. Advance tickets should be purchased by Friday, May 21. Contact Elliott’s on Linden at (910) 293-3663 or e-mail mark@elliotsonlinden.com.
