David and Ann Dowd, of Carthage, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 30, 2010. They were married in 1960 at White Hill Presbyterian Church in Sanford.

The couple have three children, Karen Sayler (and her husband, Keith), Todd Dowd (and his wife, Candace) and Eric Dowd (and his wife, Kelly), who all live in Carthage, and five grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Salyer and Dalton, Kolby and Kaine Dowd.

Family and friends gathered at Bethlehem Church on Saturday, May 1 for a reception.
