Police arrested a suspect Wednesday in a series of vehicle break-ins that plagued Southern Pines Reservoir Park.
Thomas Anthony Wright, 27, of Carthage, faces five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and five counts of larceny, according to a press release.
The arrest stems from an investigation by Southern Pines police into multiple “smash and grabs” in the parking lot of the park located on Central Drive in Southern Pines. Vehicles in the parking lot would be entered by breaking windows, followed by grabbing items inside the vehicles. The incidences that Wright has been charged with occurred between March 19 and April 26, according to the release.
According to the release, Wright was identified as a potential suspect, and was arrested Wednesday on a charge of driving while license revoked. Further investigation led to the filing of the additional charges.
Wright was jailed, with bail set at $35,000.

Chuck- Why does it matter. They likely have finger prints on multiple vehicles that have been broken into.

The Likely senario as to how he was arrested for the break ins, IMHO:
He gets arrested for driving while license revoked, goes to the P.D. and is fingerprinted while being processed; after obtaining his prints, and "running them through the system", a match to the Reservoir break ins is found - now he just got 10 more charges stacked on him :)

@Rme And if convicted and actually does time he'll probably be right back out on the street doing the same thing the day he is released. Check his record on the NC Dept of Corrections website... http://www.doc.state.nc.us/offenders/

Whatever happened to 'three strikes and you're out'? This guy needs some serious rehabilitation - at the very least he shouldn't be out on the streets!
