O'Neal Leaps Past Faith

The O'Neal School erased an 8-1 deficit with an 11-run fourth inning and held on to beat visiting Faith Christian 14-12 Friday at Dr. Jack L. Young Memorial Baseball Field.
John Schoemmell got the rally started with a single, his first of two in the bottom of the fourth inning. His second single plated Jordan Hunt to tie the score at 8-8.
The next batter, Brandt Davis, doubled home Schoemmell and Derek Ailerson to give the Falcons a 10-8 lead they would not relinquish.
Devin Roberts was the winning pitcher, and Witt Redinger recorded the save.
Matthew Schoemmell went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs. John Schoemell went 2-for-3 and scored twice, as did Redinger, who drew three walks.
Charlie Johnson went 3-for-3 with a run, and Hunt went 2-for-4 with a run.
With the win, O'Neal improves to 1-1 on the season.
