Synopsis: A massive electromagnetic attack from outer space has jammed all technical systems, and there is no electricity, no cell phones, no laptops – NO FUN! The kids are in a panic and don't know what to do, until Grandpa and Grandma arrive on the scene and introduce them to a day filled with daring and adventure, music and imagination – all without fancy gadgets!

“You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”

(In addition to the show this camp will include workshops by professional actors on auditioning, resume and marketing, dancing for the stage, singing and acting)

Synopsis: Based on The Comic Strip "Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz, “YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN” (REVISED) opened on Broadway in 1999. It is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy in this version. Two new songs, Beethoven Day and My New Philosophy, have been added to the twelve wonderful numbers of the original version, such as My Blanket and Me, The Kite, The Baseball Game, Little Known Facts, Suppertime and Happiness.

Synopsis: Join Alice's madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!

ARTSMART

The ArtSmart program, hosted by the Arts Council of Moore County, will be a offering summer art classes. We seeks to develop the creativity of young artists by introducing new mediums, team collaboration and enhanced problem solving skills in a fun, stress-free atmosphere. ArtSmart's small class size, coupled with targeted age groups, allow the instructors more opportunity to tailor their lessons to the various skill levels of each student. No prior art education is required to enroll in the classes, which are categorized by age. The classes will be offered Monday through Thursday from 10am-12 noon in such subjects as drawing, painting, sculpture and various other mediums. Each session will hold classes one day per week for 3 weeks.

Ages 8-10 Mondays or Tuesdays

Ages 11-13 Wednesdays

Ages 14-18 Thursdays

Summer Session 1 – June 14 – July 1

Summer Session 2 – July 12 – July 29

Summer Session 3 – August 2 – August 19

The cost for each summer session is $40 for Arts Council Members and $50 for Non-Members. Session fee includes teacher instruction and all art supplies. Students will only need to bring is a snack (if desired), enthusiasm and their own creativity.

Registration forms may be mailed to ACMC – ArtSmart, P.O. Box 405, Southern Pines, 28388 or dropped off at the ArtSmart center during class hours or the Campbell House.
