North Moore's two-run rally in the first inning was enough, as the homestanding Lady Mustangs turned back county rival Union Pines 3-1 in a nonconference softball game Wednesday.
North Moore remains unbeaten at 6-0 with the win, while Union Pines falls to 3-2.
Mustang pitcher Kelly Davis pitched a four-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts. Three of the four hits and the walk came in the first two innings.
Elizabeth Collins led the Mustang offense, reaching base in all four of her at-bats. The senior second baseman scored twice and had an RBI single in the first inning.
Freshman Kyrin Walker pitched a complete game for the Lady Vikings, allowing four hits and four walks with five strikeouts.

Patrick you've got a tiger by the tail covering these two teams..enjoy the ride and the coverage. Keep up the good work.....do my eyes deceive me or did I see a Pinecrest fan complaining about coverage? Now that's rich!
Keep up the good work and I suggest folks keep up with your sports updates ....takes a lot of time and energy to cover all these venues. Peace.

I believe Kyrin Walker's abilities as a Freshman pitcher have been overlooked. Not too many freshman pitchers can stand up to a team like North Moore and Sammy McNeil and only allow 3 runs! All I have to say is Bravo Kyrin!
