The cartoon by Carlson on the front page of the Opinion section of your March 10 edition is an insult to the readers of your paper and shows once more your biased reporting.
You deliberately misrepresent Sen. Bunning’s intent to vote against extending the unemployment benefits for those who cannot find work. The senator was very explicit: There is no money for it. Period.
Unemployment cannot and will not be cured with Band-Aids of government spending. It can only be helped by allowing the free market to control our economy, not the government.
Shame on The Pilot for maligning a legislator whose fiscal conscience is beyond reproach. Shame on you for deliberately misleading the public. It isn’t funny.

If one considers the Senator's past support for Republican passed legislation that led to upwards of a trillion dollars in annual unfunded expenses, his fiscal conscience is not beyond reproach. Timing is everything, they say, in politics.

In Bunning World, there's always money for tax cuts for the wealthy and for elective foreign wars. For American families in crisis, not so much. Let 'em starve, right Ms. Z?
