S.P. Man Arrested for Soliciting Sex

A Southern Pines man was arrested by police after he solicited an undercover police officer posing as a minor on the Internet.
Donovan Shermaine Hines, 19, has been charged by Southern Pines police with solicitation of a child by computer to commit an unlawful sex act, according to a press release.
Hines made arrangements to meet the undercover officer on June 25, and Hines was arrested at that time. He was jailed, with bail set at $10,000.
The operation was conducted by members of the investigation division of the Southern Pines Police Department.
