The Union Pines Marching Viking Band is headed to Washington D.C. to participate in the 2010 National Independence Day Parade on July 4.
But before they go, the Marching Vikings will hold a final rehearsal and short program for friends, family and band supporters at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Union Pines High School.
Everyone is invited to come to the performance and celebrate the hard work and dedication the band members have displayed this year.
The Union Pines band program consists of about 13 percent of the student population and is in the largest division class across the state to compete in events at the state level. It has received superior ratings the last few years.
