On Saturday evening, June 5, the Cancer CARE Fund’s Seventh Annual Blue Jean Ball, “Denim and Diamonds,” was held at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst, and what an awesome evening it was!

My sincere thanks go out to all of our sponsors in making this event such a huge success, especially these sponsors, who have generously supported the Blue Jean Ball every year since its inception in 2004: Sandhills Emergency Physicians; Pinehurst Medical Clinic; Meadowcreek Tile Co.; Dr. Harwell Palmer, DDS; The Insurance Center; and Sandhills Sign Co.

I cannot thank David Talbert Catering, Healy Wholesale, New Belgium Brewing Company and Black Sheep Design enough for a job well done. Once again, you have outdone yourselves.

I would like to thank all of the hospital volunteers for working so hard, as well as our wonderful wait staff. Thank you also to a special group of volunteer friends who helped decorate and who turned the barn into a sparkling hoedown heaven.

Two special bands kept the dance floor filled all evening, The Cowboys and The Sand Band. Thanks, guys. As always, you were fabulous!

Thanks also to the Blue Jean Ball Committee and especially The Foundation of First Health Staff. You all are a true blessing to our community. My final thank-you is to all of you who supported and attended the Blue Jean Ball. You have made it possible for The Cancer CARE Fund to continue to help cancer patients and their families here in our community.
