Pinecrest High School finished 13th in the final Wachovia Cup standings for Class 4A schools.

The Patriots, who won the Wachovia Conference Cup for the Southeastern Conference, garnered 255 points during one of the most successful athletic campaigns in the school’s 40-year history.

The Wachovia Cup program, which just concluded its 31st year, recognizes the high schools that achieve the best overall interscholastic athletic performances within each of the state’s four competitive classifications.

Green Hope maintained its lead after winter sports to capture the Wachovia Cup in the final 4A standings with 452.5 points. Cardinal Gibbons, which moved up the 3A ranks this year, took the top spot in that classification, while Bishop McGuinness captured first place for the 1A classification.

North Moore’s Yadkin Valley Conference rival, Gray Stone Day, finished fifth in the 1A standings, while West Montgomery tied for 13th.
