Pinehurst resident Vivian Jacobson will be at the Moore County Senior Enrichment Center Wednesday, June 23, at 3 p.m. to discuss her recently published book, “Sharing Chagall: A Memoir.”

Through a unique set of circumstances, it was Jacobson’s good fortune to have the friendship of the famous 20th-century artist Marc Chagall for the last 11 years of his life, and to have the opportunity to work closely with him.

From her recollections of the time spent with Chagall, and from her study, research and a vast collection of documents, memorabilia and photographs, Jacobson created a dozen lectures touching on many aspects of Chagall’s life. His unique career spanned virtually every artistic medium, including paintings, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramics and tapestries. Jacobson has taken a personal approach as she brings to her readers the essence of Chagall, the man.

Jacobson will read passages from her book, talk about the process of writing and publishing the book and be available to sign copies.

She comments that she felt a need to share her memories of the man and his ideas with an ever-widening audience, and the book is a continuation of her mission to “interpret and spread Chagall’s message of hope, peace, reconciliation and love.” Call (910) 215-0900 to reserve a seat.
