Arrest Made in Carthage Break-Ins

Moore County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested a Carthage man and charged him in connection with several area break-ins.

Daquan Terrell Ross, 19, is facing five counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny after break and enter, and three counts of felony possession of stolen goods. Ross was was confined to the Moore County Jail under a $7,500 secured bond pending a court date on Aug. 5, 2010 in Moore County District Court.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation of several break-ins that started in April.

On April 1, Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering to an abandoned structure on property in the Carthage. Jewelry and assorted change was stolen from within the building.

On May 31, Sheriff’s investigators received a report of a residential breaking and entering at another home in Carthage. That homeowner later filed additional reports for breaking and entering on June 20 and June 29.

The homeowner found jewelry and currency taken from within the residence.
