Randolph Hospital, in Asheboro, offers "A Hand Up on Arthritis" education program, Thursday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. during which rehabilitation services therapists will lead activities and answer questions about arthritis. In addition, participants will learn about available resources the local YMCA offers to help those dealing with arthritis.

"Patients are educated about the history, different types, treatment, home changes, nutrition, etc. of arthritis," says B.J. Chockley, director of rehabilitation services at Randolph Hospital. Through this seminar, individuals will develop a better understanding of what their diagnosis of arthritis really means."

Even those who are not diagnosed with arthritis can benefit too. Preventative measures will be discussed that can help avoid developing arthritis through proper care of your joints.

This seminar is one of Randolph Hospital's community education events offered each month to promote health and wellness. Registration is required for this program. To get more information or to sign up, call (336) 633-7788 or visit www.randolphhospital.org.
