With summer in full swing and the temperatures so high, it can get pretty hot out there.

"Luckily, the Southern Pines Recreation Pool, located at 730 S. Stephens St., is still open and ready for you to come take a dip," says a spokesman.

The pool is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Free swim is held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. the first hour of every day that the pool is open (12:30-1:30 pm). The pool will be in regular operation until Aug. 23.

From 1:30 - 6:30, the pool admission fees are $1 for Southern Pines residents 12 and under and $2 for residents 13 and over Nonresidents pay $2 and $4 respectively. Children 6 and under are admitted from and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
