Bradbury Honored by Rotary Club

At their annual dinner on June 24, at Mid Pines Country Club, the Southern Pines Rotary Club met for the installation of new officers and to announce the winner of the Four Way Test Award.
Carol Haney, broker associate and relocation specialist with Gouger O'Neal & Saunders Real Estate, and wife of Southern Pines mayor Mike Haney, was installed as president.
Haney, along with the newly appointed board of directors, was installed by Henry Brown, past district governor. Serving on the board for 2010-2011 are: David Zmiewsky, president elect, vice president, Fidelity Bank; Bill Snelgrove, secretary; Dianne Barrett, treasurer; Bill Baker, director, club service, executive director, The First Tee; Shane English, director, community service, vice president, Four Oaks Bank; John Letteney, director, vocational service, Southern Pines police chief; Kit McKinley, director, international service, general manager, Moore County Telephone Directory; Jennifer George, director, at large, Aging Outreach Services; and Jeff Gilbert, past president.
Haney hosted the evening's activities, with a feast of foods from her home state of Louisiana. Outgoing president Jeff Gilbert recalled the accomplishments of the club during his tenure, and the club's newly appointed poet laureate, Mitch "Granddaddy Junebug" Capel, entertained guests
Felton Capel presented the Four Way Test Award to Pat Bradbury, a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Bradbury's life passion is her involvement in Family Promise, helping homeless mothers and children. She has traveled the country organizing local networks for the national organization. She is also busy feeding the hungry through Brownson's Gleaming Mission Program in Moore County and Virginia and recruits people to distribute bread from Panera Bread. She is a member of the newly formed Sister City International Board.
