The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex, in Fayetteville, presents a “Civil War Encampment: 1861” from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 25. The event is free.

Living historians will provide a glimpse into the life of the Civil War soldier, demonstrating and interpreting some of the weapons, uniforms and equipment used by Confederate soldiers (and Union!) in the early days of the war.

Demonstrations will include the proper loading and firing of muskets, campfire cooking and close order drill.
