i wonder if there is an investigation going on as to the cause of the fire - since it wasn't reported. did the owner leave a cigarette buring in the car? battery explode? possible arson?

i understand that there are "no further details available at this time", but did anyone even ask if there was on investigation into what started it - that's a simple yes or no answer.

isn't that one of the basic "5-w's and 1-H" questions?

I can't tell what kind of surface the car is on from the long distance photo, but such fires have been known to start from parking on pine straw. If the car has been driven a distance, the catalytic converter in the exhaust system can get so hot that it ignites the straw.

It's obvious the horse was blindfolded so that there wouldn't be any eyewitnesses ! :)

Cypress Pointe Fire and rescue department responded. If this was the case why was Carthage Fire dispatched to this fire? Cypress Pointe=Vass,Woodlake Sub Station, Cameron Fire Department combined" Two former independant fire department who combined to "save money and increase response time." In this incident was money saved if three fire departments responsed to a single vehicle fire? Did Cypress Pointe require a second page for this fire and thus the need to dispatch the Carthage Fire Dept? Mutual aid in place for structure fires and large wood fires but by the looks of the picture the house was not endanger of becoming involved due to the vehicle fire. Cypress Pointe save your tax district folks some money like you promised and extinguish a single vehicle fire with one 1'3/4 handline with an additional backup safety line and a minimum of 6 firefighters. Practice what you preached and sold the Moore County Commissioners on!

First of all I would like to personally thank ALL the fire and rescue departments that responded to this fire outside of my home your response time was impecable!!! Secondly, with the weather conditions as dry as they have been and the uncertainty of how close this vehicle was parked to my home the fire and rescue responded as they should have, (FAST!) I happened to be at work when my 17 year old son called me and told me that there was a car on fire in our driveway, with not knowing how close or where this car was parked I know I got here as fast as I could! So tell me Mr. ASU88 (comment above) if this was your home and under the same circumstances would you want them to act as fast for you????? Thanks again guys well done!
