Chung Dominates on Way to Semis

It took David Chung just 13 holes to return to the semifinals of the North & South Amateur Championship being played on Pinehurst No. 2.
The tournament's top seed and defending champion defeated 41st seed Josh Eure 7 and 5 in Friday morning's quarterfinals.
Chung held a 1-up lead through five holes, then won the next five holes in a row culminating in a birdie four on the par-5 10th. He put the match away with a birdie three on the par-4 13th.
Chung's opponent in the semifinal match that got under way at 1 p.m. had to put in considerably more work to advance.
After his third-round win lasted 22 holes, 13th seeded Kelly Kraft was taken to extra holes again before putting away 12th seeded Riley Arp on the first extra hole of his quarterfinals win.
The other semifinal, which teed off at 1:10 p.m., features 19th seeded Kyle Peterman, a 20-hole winner over Barrett Kelpin in the quarterfinals, versus 31st seed Donald Constable, who advanced with a 1-up win over seventh seeded Lee Bedford.
