Top seed and defending champion David Chung was 6-up on 41st seed Josh Eure through 12 holes in the morning's first pairing to go out on the course at Pinehurst No. 2.

Twelfth seed Riley Arp was 1-up on 13th seed Kelly Kraft through 11 holes, while seventh seed Lee Bedford was 1-up on 31st seed Donald Constable through nine holes.

Meanwhile, 19th seed Kyle Peterman was 4-up on 11st seed Barrett Kelpin through nine holes in the last pairing to go out.
