Unhappy With Hagan

As an independent conservative, I voted for now Sen. Kay Hagan in the 2008 election.

I switched from then Sen. Elizabeth Dole primarily due to some underhanded and what I considered nasty campaign ads. Now I regret what I did!

I have observed Hagan's position regarding the current health-care bill and additional amendments being added to the document.

I am extremely discouraged by her posture, reaffirmed by a recent radio ad where she stated that "seniors can now carry their prescriptions in a paper bag and have their pharmacist review any conflicts in the drugs." You would think she would have known that pharmacists have been providing this service for many years. You can always ask your pharmacist any question regarding a drug and its potential interaction with others you may be taking. Most of the time they are more informed about this than doctors.

Hagan seems to think this is a big positive for passage of the current health-care bill.

What a big mistake! With only a short time in office, she is being portrayed as just "one of the guys" in the Democratic party, voting the party line, and is clearly out of touch with her constituency.

It is unfortunate that she was just elected and has another five years in office. If not, she would most likely be voted out in 2010. However, we will not forget her stance on this very critical piece of legislation on Election Day in 2014.
