Hoping to continue to provide residents with the best possible service, the Southern Pines Police Department is asking for input through an anonymous survey.
From March 1 to May 1, the department will be conducting the survey that it hopes will be a valuable tool to provide insight into how the department is perceived by residents and businesses, the quality of service it provides and opportunities for improvement.
This is the first time the department has done a survey. Click here for the survey.
"We always look to be better individually and organizationally, and this survey gives us, we hope, honest and accurate data," said John Letteney, Southern Pines Police Chief.
Letteney said the survey is about being proactive and being able to adjust as Southern Pines changes and evolves.
Community participation in the survey is vital, and greatly appreciated, he said.
A link to this survey is on the Southern Pines Police Department Web page at http://www.southernpines.net/police. In addition, for those Southern Pines residents and businesses unable to take the survey online, a paper copy will be included with the March water bill.
The paper survey can be returned with your water bill payment.
The survey will be separated from the payment and forwarded to the Police Department to ensure anonymity.
Residents may also pick up or drop off a paper copy of this survey at the Southern Pines Police Department at 801 SE Service Road.

I want to offer my sincere appreciation to Officer Crumpler of the Pinehurst Police Department. Very helpful, very knowledgeable & very professional. It makes me feel blessed & safer (!) to live in Pinehurst knowing that officers like Officer Crumpler are serving our community. I do not think LEOs are thanked enough or paid enough. Instead of saying "ugh, God help us" (previous comment) try saying, THANK GOD WE HAVE PEOPLE WILLING TO SERVE & PROTECT.
