Police Briefs: Pinebluff Man Faces Charges of Selling Pills

An undercover drug investigation in the Carthage area led to the arrest of a Pinebluff man Monday on charges of distributing controlled prescription pills.
Jessie Lane Burns, 23, of 135 Longbrook Road, has been charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, two counts of felony sell a schedule II controlled substance and two counts of felony deliver a schedule II controlled substance, according to a press release.
The undercover operation was conducted by officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit in August and September 2009.
During the investigation, the officers purchased and seized five Oxycontin pills, a schedule II controlled substance, according to the release.
Burns was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
In another undercover drug investigation, deputies arrested an Aberdeen woman Saturday on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills.
Ginger Louise Poindexter, 24, of 169 Stubby Oaks Road, Aberdeen, faces three counts of felony trafficking in opium (schedule III controlled substance), felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule III controlled substance, felony sell a schedule III controlled substance and felony deliver a schedule III controlled substance, according to a press release.
The arrest stemmed from an August 2009 undercover operation during which officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit purchased and seized nine Lorcet pills, according to the release.
The operation was conducted in the Aberdeen area, according to the release.
Break-in Arrest: An Aber-deen teenager was arrested Friday and charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering.
James Edison Taylor, 18, was arrested by Moore County Sheriff’s Office investigators after a Carthage area woman had reported Feb. 8 that someone had broken into an abandoned residence she owns, according to a press release.
Taylor was released on a $500 unsecured bond.
