College Offers Computer Classes

The Continuing Education Division of Sandhills Community College is offering "Computing Using Windows XP: Bits and Pieces," which will cover use of Microsoft's Windows XP operating system.
The class will be conducted as a forum to resolve users' questions or expand a student's knowledge. The prerequisite for this class is Windows Level I.
This class will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays March 4-18, from 9 a.m. until noon. The registration fee for this course is $65 (waived for those 65 and older) plus a $5 technology fee. Registration is required by Feb. 25.
"Windows Vista Level 2" students will expand their knowledge of the Windows operating system, learn how to customize their computer by using the control panel, keep their system running smoothly with system maintenance, and learn advanced file management tips and techniques. The prerequisite for this class is Windows Level 1.
This class will run from March 8-24 from 3 to 6 p.m. The registration fee is $65 (waived for those 65 and older) plus a $5 technology fee. Registration is required by March 1.
A new course, "Windows Media Player," will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 9-25, from 4 to 6 p.m. It will teach users about digital media files and how to use them.
The registration fee for this course is $60. Students must have prior computing experience or have taken Windows XP or Vista Level 1 before enrolling in this course. Registration is required by March 2.
